A good win against Halequins
In very muddy conditions
After a few weeks away due to some very bad weather, we visited Bristol Harlequins and with the red clay mud, nobody was going home clean.
The first half started quite slowly, both teams seemingly evenly matched despite us having most of the possession. We eventually managed to break through and after some good play and rucking by the forwards, it allowed Tom DC to score the opening try. The second try came from excellent play by Harry, ending with a lovely pass to Dan out on the wing to score in the corner. 1st half 2-0.
In the second half, we were much more fully engaged in the game and much improved in every area. More great passes to Dan out on the wing allowed him to break through with some good runs and put the ball over the line twice. Tom W managed to drive through from a penalty, to put the ball over the line. Just seconds before the final whistle Tom W had a clear run down the pitch to score for the 4th time this half. Shippy also managing a good run, held onto the ball giving him a try, making the final score a very well deserving 9-0.
Man of the match was Tom DC, who played well on form and ran the game great from the scrum half position.
A MASSIVE mention goes to Ben, who unselfishly volunteered to play for Bristol Harlequins who were a player short. He tackled very well the whole game and was an asset to the opposition.
Another big mention goes to Jon and his washing machine, Zoe. The playing tops were very muddy, so not an envious task.
