All new players welcome. Contact a member of staff below or feel free to turn up at a training session.
The Thornbury Girls Rugby team was started in 1999 by Annie Parker to cater for girls who were too old to play with their male counterparts under RFU rules. The Girls team is an integral part of the Thornbury Broncos Junior Section and operates alongside the U7s to U17s junior sides. Thornbury RFC has a lively adult membership and is situated 15 miles north of Bristol with a junior arm of 360 members.
The girl’s team have contributed 3 players to recent England Women’s sides and form the backbone of the Gloucestershire and South West North girls’ representative sides.
Thornbury U15s teams won the National Cup in 2006 and were runners up in 2007.
Training is on a Wednesday night at the Club in Rockhampton Lane and has featured guest training sessions with both current and former Bristol Premiership players this season.
In the 2008/9 season Thornbury girls have 18 U18 and 10 U15 regular players but are always looking for new members and competitive games.
